NZTA - Implementation Of Mash Road Safety Hardware

As of July 1st 2019, Steel Barrier Systems will need to be MASH compliant, not just as components, but as a total MASH crash tested system. Wire Rope Systems will need to comply by the end of 2019. The following timeframes are:
• 31 December 2019 Wire rope safety barriers and crash cushions
• 31 December 2020 Transitions, temporary barriers, Part 2 products.
NZTA will be amending M23 shortly as some NCHRP 350 components currently being installed on the network will not meet MASH and will become legacy systems.Ramshield, Bikershield and MSKT End Terminal are a crash tested MASH system.
